G-Shock "Absolute toughness, absolute legend"

Introduction
G-Shock is one of the most popular and long-selling watch brands in the world. This is not only because of its powerful feature, but also its attractive and classic appearance design. It has been loved by lots of people including many fashion leader and celebrities. Even nowadays, G-Shock is still one of the most popular watches in the watch market.
My story with G-Shock
When I was about 13 years old, I read an article about G-Shock in a magazine. It talked about the history and powerful feature about G-Shock, and that article has an illustrating picture, I vividly remember it is a photo of the G-Shock DW-5000C, the original first G-Shock. At that time, I was deeply attracted by it and decided that I must have my owned G-Shock. After saving money from my daily allowance for about half year, I finally got my first G-Shock, it is the model “DW-5600MS”, the one with very special screen, flip display screen (normally, the screen of digital watches display number in black colour and the background is in relatively white colour, however, flip display screen displays number in relatively white colour and the background is in relatively black colour). However, that watch was lost on my way to the school, I have been sad about this for almost an entire week. In the following years, I have owned several other models G-Shock, and almost forgot the “DW-5600MS”. However, last year, when I go shopping in David Jones, I found that there was a watch in the counter looked very familiar, and when I got closer I realized that it is the “DW-5600MS”, which is the same model with my first G-Shock, and fortunately, it is even on sales, so I bought it without any hesitating.
The future of G-Shock
Facing the onslaught of many newly come out smartwatches, such as Apple Watch and Fitbit, G-Shock seems doesn’t change a lot. More and more people prefer wearing smartwatches in their day to day life. Some people say that G-Shock has already past its prime and stay in the old days.
So, is it G-Shock really out of the step with the times? I don’t know, but last year, 2018, is the 35th anniversary (since 1983) of Casio G-Shock. Casio has launched a series of commemorative G-Shock, and the two outstanding pieces is the “GMW-B5000D-1” and “GMW-B5000GD-9”. They were hit since they were released.
Moreover, This year (2019), G-Shock has released the “GA-2100”, which is the thinnest G-Shock.
From my point of view, G-Shock is not trying to compete with the smartwatches in the “smart” way but keep focusing on the “toughness”, beautiful design and the innovation of the technology. Let’s look forward to its next “golden age”.
